How long will a power station run a refrigerator in a blackout?
A refrigerator is a duty-cycle load: the compressor runs in bursts, so the average draw (what empties a battery) is far below the number on the nameplate. A typical modern full-size fridge uses 1–1.5kWh per day — roughly a 60W average; the compressor's brief starting surge, however, can reach 700–1,200W. That surge is why the table only lists stations rated for 600W continuous or more — capacity without inverter headroom keeps the light on and the compressor off.
During an outage, you can stretch every number below substantially: keep the door closed (each opening costs real watt-hours), and if the outage is long, run the station only in alternating hours — a fridge that stays closed holds safe temperature for roughly 4 hours unpowered.
How the table is computed: runtime = rated capacity × 85% usable ÷ average draw. Prices are today's price at each brand's official store (including on-page promo prices where we can verify them); the table re-ranks every night. Omitted: out-of-stock models, models without a current battery-only price, models whose runtime rounds below half a hour, and stations below 600W continuous output (or without a published rating) — they can't run this load regardless of capacity.
